First day and first 80 miles in a new 2012 S/C just in from the UK. No squeaks or rattles anywhere.

I think this is a common problem and a problem that will not go away by re-hanging the doors or putting new seals on, instead it offers a temporary fix. I think the dealers just lube the doors/seals and the problem comes back.

I have searched and some models of Audi and Mercedes etc have the same problem.

I think we have to live with the problem and I do not mind doing preventative maintenance if its means 10 minutes of my time 2-3 times a year.

But what product to use that works best? Maybe if we keep this thread active and people try different products and post results after 2-3 months?

If its aerosol I apply directly to a disposable shop towel 1st but do spray into/on hinges and latches.

Products tried:
Adams Products (did NOT work)
Ultima tire and trim guard (did NOT work)
Ultima interior guard (did NOT work)

CRC Syntex (Next Generation Synthetic Lube) (this is by far the best but early days)

Exactly what 'Jaguar XF Black' said.

I am still rattle and creak free after two weeks so the CRC Syntex is working. Time will tell for how long.

@ XF Black

What exactly did they do to your car? You mentioned something about them adjusting your doors??

what they said to me was they had to re adjust the doors..
so i gather the hinges were re adjusted so there was less pressure on the door when it was in the closed position.
lube will help but a temporary fix . as the lube dries out it will start the noises again.
really have to do what was done to mine and re align the doors to sit perfectly.
i noticed as well that my drivers door now closes with no effort as before it needed a hard pull on it to close.
still ealry days after the fix but seems the way to go.
will keep you updated.

Thanks. I will inquire about this with my dealer. They recommended that I wax the inside of the door panel. I waxed them this weekend but as you stated these are temporary fixes. Thanks for your help and definitely keep me posted.

you shouldnt have to do anything like that ...
jag should do what was done to mine one week today and not even the slightest noise .
every other time when they lubed there would be a noise here and there.
jag should have the documentation on this fix talk to them and get it sorted once and for all....
good luck and i will keep you up to date ...let me know also how you get on...

I'm totally frustrated. It seems like such a small thing (hang nail) that has such a huge impact on the enjoyment of the car. I'm almost at the point of selling the car. This may sound like over reacting but I've been to Jag 4 times for the same issue. If someone walked up to me today and offered me close to what I owed; it would have been sold. This is ridiculous...

The car is in now. I told them about your fix and the first thing they said was "don't believe everything you read on the internet". But, after having the service foreman ride with me he heard all the noises and completely understood what I was dealing with. Hopefully, it will be fixed this time. Fingers crossed....

I don't own a XF just yet, but is this door creaking really that bad?

I mean, some of you say you turn the music off and look for the noise, but the car is unibody and it's going to have some flex.
I have driven 3 XFs. One had 6000 miles on it(2011), the other 20,000(09) and the third one 40,000(2009). All three were dead quite.

@Executive

I've had a horrible experience with the creaking. It seems there are mixed results from the forum. The challenge is that my dealer is clueless with a viable solution. I understand that cars are not perfect and will have issues like most mechanical things. But, I expect them to be fixed.

I can definitely understand your frustration. I have 120,000 miles on my Lincoln and if i hear slight creak/noise i get pissed. I can imagine how you feel after spending all that money on a new car. I would be furious too.

My 2012 XF has been in for service for this same issue on two occasions in just the past 4 weeks. My 2009 was very tight and never had any issues but my new XF has only 2k miles and it sounds like the doors are ready to fall off. It really has taken the enjoyment away from owning the car. Going around turns in parking garages is the worst.
