In fact, nothing has been done... No change!
I go to the pump, and I put, roughly, 50% E10 and 50% E85
I inquired to pass the beautiful 100% E85 with a box "flexfull" approved in France: 1290€
Wihout the "fuelbox", I found a company that reprogrammed the ECU for me: 400€
So no technical change (hoses or others)
So technically no problem for the car.
The only consequence, if the percentages are exceeded too much, the engine light will come on because it will find a difference in combustion. You just have to add the E10 and the light goes out!
And if the temperatures are too low, the Jaguar may need more time to start...
I have a friend who had a Range Rover V8 and drove 100% in the summer...
The idea is to gradually increase the percentage of E85.
A slight overconsumption can happen, but I don't... As before!
I've done this before with an MX5 (Mazda), Yaris and Aygo (Toyota) and even a 2000 Peugeot 206 with 160,000 miles. for the Peugeot, I stay at 30% because it is very old...

Sorry everyone for lacking in my research, was tackling other things and fixing other problems with my XF 5.0 SC, as for the information regarding the flex fuel sensor, thats great work. So my question is, do the cars that have a black gas cap already have a flex fuel sensor in it? I would need to check the exact location, a pic of an XF with it would be helpful so I know exactly where to look. If the answer is no, then the following question would be is there already the wiring to make it plug and play? Something that I would find out at the same time as I dissect that area of the car.
That ProEFI flex fuel sensor kit is enticing, cheap enough where it may be worth it, but that means they got it for much cheaper and are making a profit, maybe its just a ford sensor after all! But they do not mention anything about reprogramming by quickly browsing the link, so maybe it is simply plug and play for us jag owners if this is all that is needed for the RR owners! Did someone ask them if that sensor works for Jaguar as well? Found this OEM sensor on this website for only $75!

IF software is still a problem, is there is a way to easily change it via the SDD under the CCF (Car Configuration File) whether this is under a dealer computer or the developer version. I would be comfortable dong this, but I do not have an SDD and have not felt confident enough to make that purchase without giving myself a guarantee it would be useful. I also hear the back and forth regarding a mongoose cable being aftermarket and bricking the car. Since this is my daily im too concerned to tackle that without some help or instruction. (I also desperately want to add adaptive cruise to my car and just read a couple forums on people completing it successfully and adding Queue assist which would make this an insanely phenomenal vehicle and make me super happy) Another software famous in the RR world is the IID Tool form GAP Diagnostic, I am communicating with them regarding the ACC system I'm interested as its more of a guarantee than the SDD system, but as mentioned on another forum as well as this one, for every 1000 ranges they get, 1 jag will make a request, thus development on the jag side is more uncommon. Still in communication with them so we will see if I make any further developments...
To back up @Tetedampoule, as I mentioned before, I too have thrown 5+ gallons of e85 mixed with the remainder of the tank for 93 octane, especially on hotter days as ethanol runs cooler, might try 50/50 and see what happens. the car did immediately start to burble more, but I will say I saw a slight decrease in mpg as the government rates this car on e85 at 9 in the city, 16 mpg on the highway (15/23 normally) So then that brings up the question of whether all our cars are secretly just flex tuned and jaguar had some regulation or restriction to make it different.
@Exhauat Note Channel, I am absolutely jealous, a white '15 5.0 SC with flex fuel? what a beauty congrats! I did not know about the dual radiators on each side, I believe my car has it as I remember when making my whiskers black, maybe that is why I don't feel much heat soak when my completely black on black jag drives in 90+ degrees. Both grilles are open so thats good news for me!

Insomniac_driver I was lucky to get this car. My customer traded it in and I immediately scooped it up. Didn't even think twice. I do like that all murdered out look you got too.

I've been meaning to do that, just never got around to it and the recording difficulties, all I did was exhaust and intakes, going on almost two years with the car and want to do these retrofits, possibly a tune to unleash over 600+ hp but just been so happy with the car in terms of how its behaved (other than the pothole nonsense up here in the northeast)

We don't have great info yet BUT I think the flex fuel sensor on the XF's is mounted on the firewall somewhat close to the brake MC stuff. If anyone happens to see it (Pictures of the sensor are posted up thread) it would be a big help to take a picture and post back to this thread for everyone's benefit.

Anyone ever hear of this? was looking into this subject a little while ago and came across this. I would sure love to get as much out of the car as I can. Sorta running out of stuff to do for the performance so this would be awesome if it actually worked. May just try it out.
