Default Face-lift - MY2013 - Faulty Parking Aid / Assist Sensor Module Camera

Hi,

One week after buying new to me 2013 XF 3.0d S Portfolio parking aid started playing up. Was intermittent for a week now has given up completely.

Have already done the following :-
Checked body to boot(trunk)-lid wiring loom - Seemed OK
Bought new front parking sensors, removed front bumper(fender) and replaced each one in turn no success.
Bought used rear parking sensor, removed rear bumper and replaced each one in turn no success.
Removed boot lid trim panel to access parking camera and checked cable and seemed OK

I did each sensor in turn as I cannot hear any of the sensors clicking at all.

The way I checked whether I had a faulty sensor was to remove each parking sensor, replace it with one that I bought (either new front or used rear), switch on ignition \ engine and listen for warning beep and "parking camera unavailable - Please contact dealer" message which I got the full 8 times. However while I was doing the test the bumper was not on the car it was on the ground with the lead connected and in some cases the sensor was not even in the housing, I just disconnected one and plugged in the new one. So after looking at the workshop manual yesterday I note that there are umpteen reasons why a sensor would be playing up including such things as incorrectly positioned sensor, wrong paint, sensor coupling rings not installed correctly, non standard bumper or exhaust tailpipe fitted/etc.

Does this mean my faults sensor search diagnosis was invalid and it still could be a sensor at fault?

Also I just bought a new parking aid module from ebay (as I thought I had confirmed it wasn't a sensor) according to the manual it says "Diagnosis by substitution from a donor vehicle is NOT acceptable. Substitution of control modules does not guarantee confirmation of a fault, and may also cause additional faults in the vehicle being tested and/or the donor vehicle". Can anyone confirm that they have substituted the parking module successfully or should I just bite the bullet and take my new toy to the local Jaguar Dealership or Jaguar Specialist.

Also can anyone confirm the actual location of the parking module I have seen one diagram showing it in the boot and one vaguely pointing to the right-side wheel arch?

Thanks in advance.
