first problem with my XF
XF SC has 1,075 miles on it..
Today i stopped at the Quick-E-Mart on the way to pick up my son from school.. I ran in, bought a coke, got back into the car, and it would not start.. it would turn over, idle very rough and low (around 300-500rpm) then die. After trying to start it about 5 times I did the engine-reset thing by putting the ignition into conv. mode and pressing the gas+brake and the start button - after about 20 seconds, the engine started and seemed to run fine, but I had a "CATS System Fault" warning.. I was afraid to go to my sons school (fearing it would die again) so i drove home and got the Toyota ..
after the XF sat in my garage for 30 minutes or so, i started it up and everything seemed normal - the CATS warning was gone..
Any idea what might have caused this? Bear in mind that it was approx 105F outside when this occured (making it very uncomfortable while i was reading thru the owners manual to figure out how to do the engine-reset).. Just a 'glitch' ?
