Gas. Mileage difference between sport mode and drive mode
Hey guys I had a really quick question if anybody knew the answer and I know there is some variability. Has anybody figured out how much more gas sport mode uses compared to drive mode? I know it's very dependent on how hard you drive the car but I was curious for a reference range.

Not sure if it really makes ANY difference, assuming that you will drive the car exactly the same way. When I was using a loaner XF last week I drove it in both Dymanic and Normal mode. Initially as I tended to switch over to Dynamic at freeway cruising speeds, the engine RPM increased from 1500 to little over 2000. That would result in extra fuel use.
However, when I kept it in Dynamic and just continued with very light throttle freeway cruising, in a few minutes the engine RPM dropped back to 1500. Seem like the adaptive nature of the transmission decided that it did not need the extra RPM so it went back to the basic cruising speeds.
If you use any kind of performance driving, no doubts, the transmission will change its shift points to higher RPM ranges in Dynamic mode where most of the power band is, thus, your mileage will show it.
With my other Jags I found the same in "S" mode. Initially the RPMs will jump but, if driven with light throttle eventually the engine speed will settle back to the same as in "D" mode.
