Default Good Wheel Brands for Jags ?

Hello Friends, what are some good wheel brands for our Jags ?

I am planning to upgrade from stock 18s to 19/20 inch wheels on my Jag XF.

Other than stock, I see TSW and Coventry mostly on Jags. Are brands like Rohana, Niche, Verde, Rota, Konig, etc good also ?

I hear some brands rims start peeling or get bent within short amount of time. But there is no precise answer bcoz it seems this happens to some tsw and coventry also.

Please share your good or bad experiences with some of these brands ?

Thanks,
Teegur

Bigger rim you get the less firewall rubber there is to protect the rim and the more likely it gets bent. (Plus the Jag OEM rims seem quite prone to bending). So given the option you might want to go 19inch vs 20 as 20 seems to have most of the trouble

Rohana is good with Jags - they have done a lot and know what fits. I put Rohana RF2s on my XF SC and love the look (they are 20inch)

Coventry of course specialize in Jags and know them really well. If you have an XF with the smaller brake calipers (i.e. Not the SC or XFR then you should have a lot of aftermarket choices)

Another good choice not mentioned are the Savini Black de Forza line of wheels. Can be found in 20" for less than $1,500.

And their offsets on XF's are absolutely perfect!

I am planning to go to 20 inch wheels and the likelihood of bent rim is higher with 20s.

It's kind of surprising that Jag factory wheels are so expensive yet don't hold as good as others quality wise when it comes to 20s. I had a couple of folks tell me bad stories abt Factory wheels. One of my friends has bad experiences with TSWs just doing safe daily driving paint peeled off and rim was bent after 18 months or so. The Jag dealer suggested TSWs over Jag factory wheels which was rather odd. When I asked He said TSWs and Coventry might actually be a lot better than stock rims.

I am thinking I should probably get Forged wheels like Rohana Forged wheels or other reputable brands. The forged ones are quite a bit expensive though atleast the good looking ones with the right offset for XF. I gotta shop around and see. Looks like I got some work cut out for me

Smile ruff racing

The only aftermarket wheels I've had experience with is Ruff Racing, specifically the r954...I had them on my Pontiac G8 (similar size vehicle to the XF) and they were 20s. The stock rims on the g8 were the 18's and I went with 245/35 tires so it's a similar situation to your XF project.

The reason why I am even mentioning them is because they took my punishment really well. I swear I hit more potholes after getting those rims than ever before..i hit curbs, I hit construction holes, I hit everything. The rims never bent or became misshapen at all, they held my abuse very well! I enjoyed them a lot!

By the way, I've also heard good things about Niche that you mentioned.

Alright guys, Since 19s are safer bet on the wheels I went and ahead bought factory 19" JAG Staggered XJ wheels but I am gonna throw em on my XF since the offset is close enough to fit in nicely.

Below will be my Tire/Wheel Configuration, Notice the sidewall is 45 instead of 40 on front it should give a softer ride and have some traction while cornering and on the rear wide tire should give control/stability at higher speeds:

Tire-Size-Front: 245/45/R19 on 19 x 9 wheel
Tire-Size-Rear: 275/40/R19 on 19 x 10 wheel

Hopefully, the setup is not too snug and It should fit in smoothly

Looks nice. I like finish/color on your wheels. Got a nice shine on em too. Looks hot when you look at em from the side

When it comes to cleaning, make sure to clean em with gentle soap n water instead of using wheel cleaners that you get off the shelves they can be harsh in the long-run if over-used. Using appropriate/gentle soap and water should preserve the finish on your wheels for the long-run. Unfortunately, I have learned these things over the years with trial n error

Once I get my wheels and put em on my XF, I will post some pics if they look good or worthy enough for a display

I have TSW and they are good wheels. I have a set of TSW 21's for sale here.
