It's a piece of cake, the badge is simply stuck on with the ubiquitous grey adhesive.
Lever it off with a pry tool, preferably a plastic one that won't scratch the surround.
Try to keep the adhesive in one neat piece on the back of the badge, eg by gently prying it away from the backing plate on the grille as you remove it.
The replacement badge should have a pair of locating prongs on the back same as the OEM badge, and an adhesive "peel and stick" pad.
Also, the later "facelift" XF, from 2012 onwards, has a larger badge so if you are buying a new one make sure you get the "small" one.
From memory 70 mm vs 85 mm in diameter

Getting them off requires a bit of patience and definitely use plastic tools otherwise you will destroy the surrounding chrome. Mine was too stiff to remove from the front without potentially damaging the grill, but I found if you can either get your hand behind it, or use some sort of tool through the grill you can push the locator pins from behind and the badge just popped off.
Be careful with getting non genuine badges, I made that mistake the first time. The one I had wasn't made of the correct type of plastic and faded within 6 months of being in the sun. The genuine ones weren't that expensive (~£20 here).
