Default Hardwiring Dashcam

Has anyone hard wired a dash cam into a 2013 Jaguar XF.

The XF years before seemed to have an switch fuse in the passenger compartment, where its possible to attach a fuse adaptor (not 100% sure what its called but attached an image), combined with the Blackvue Power Magic Pro.

But on the 2013, all the ones located in the passenger side glove box all have steady power from the battery.

If anyone has hard wired it, where did you get the switch source to wire it in to, any pictures would really appreciated to help with this

Thanks all!

That is called a piggy back fuse adapter...look in the rear fuse panel, you will find a few slots there that you can piggy back into.

You can also tap into the power for the rear view mirror. At least one of the sources there is switched (and maybe they all are). You can get a wire tap that just connects into the power lead for the mirror and then it’s right where you want the dash cam.

Bear in mind some of what you believe are always live when ignition is off go to sleep after ten minutes...I think when I had my hardwired dashcam in my XFR I tapped off the fuse for the power socket in the center console, which is live for ten minutes after the car locks up. Fooled me for a while with my multimeter...
