Default Has anyone tried motul 948b or fuchs 5w20?

Motul does state that it does not really fit V6&V8 engines so I left that out, but I wonder if fuchs titan is the same?

It's kind of frustrating that you cannot see oil temp or pressure on a high performance car without modification.

Personally, unlike any other car I have owned, I will not deviate from the stock oil because of the risk of increased buildup of deposits on the intake valves. I cleaned mine off around 45K miles, and it was definitely building up and causing reduced performance and rough idle.

The Jags seem to be much better about this buildup than other brands with direct injection like Audi, so I it's hard to know if the rare oil they spec from the factory is a positive contributor.

Hey, thanks for the response.

The thing is that I am scared to let these people in my country to do valve cleaning jobs or any kind of job that is associated with engine rebuild because heck, they don't even know how to torque the drain plug properly.
What about engine flush by liqui moly? Have you tried one?

An engine flush is not going to do anything to clean the valves.

I have never done an engine flush, nor would I expect I would ever need to do one unless I bought a car that has been completely neglected with no oil changes and sludge is building up in the engine. If I found that out, I would probably sell the car again right away instead of trying to flush it!

Why do you think you need a valve cleaning or use an oil additive?

There are a number of valve cleaning chemicals out there. CDC makes a good one (no affiliation)

What makes you think I just think I need a valve cleaning and don't actually know that I had deposits on the valves after 50K miles that were very difficult to remove even with the engine apart??

Check out my DIY thread for enlightenment.

Don't believe in the valve cleaning products. Why? Because I had the intake off, and soaked the valves in multiple brands of these cleaners, and they did nothing to loosen the hard tar that was stuck on the valves. Imagine how little they do when they are barely misted onto the valves. Snake oil.

The best was carb and throttle body cleaner, and it still needed some serious hand scraping and multiple soak, scrap, clean iterations to get the valves clean.

The BMW dealers use walnut blasting, which gives you an idea of how hard these deposits are to remove.

Don't waste your money on snake oils to clean intake valves.

What makes you think I was asking you the question? I clearly quote the OP.

Might try motul 300V 0w-20 since winter is coming. They seem to know what they are using. Will keep it updated.
