Default Has anyone tried to upgrade their radio to the new XF's head unit?

I was wondering if anyone has tried putting the updated head unit and face plate on their older XF. I've been thinking about trying this since the older system while works, looks kind of boring and dull. Also I still haven't figured out how to get this thing to save the contacts in my phone, but I'm thinking it won't since I have an Android and not an iPhone.

I don't think it is possible. For instance the new unit has a somewhat larger display and makes use of an HDD for the Nav instead of the disc based system.

I have an Android phone and it stores and remembers contacts just fine. Try unpairing and undocking, then repairing and redocking phone. A prompt should show up on the Jag screen asking you to if it can import contacts.

I've been wanting to upgrade my infotainment system as well but a retrofit isn't possible. It's a completely different setup with the hard drive based system (as opposed to the DVD based nav system on the pre 2012s). The dashboard fittings on the 2012 + have been modified to fit the new infotainment system.

The 2 major advantages of the '12 + are the upgraded headlights and infotainment system, both of which are not practical retrofit options on earlier models.

I'm guessing the head unit and the touch screen are two different items, if that is the case, it would be an easy upgrade. If they aren't then it's not impossible, it just would probably cost more than it would be worth since it would involve buying the dashboard for the 2012 and changing it out.

I found out today that it is saving my contacts. When I first got the car, it wouldn't do it but I guess since bringing it in for service, they reset the radio so everything works. btw do anyone have the voice command list?

physically, the stereo will be the standard dimensions of any car stereo system. The HDD nav system and DVD system are usually either separate units that connect to the stereo or built into the system itself, so that's probably not something to worry about.
