Default Headlights Paint

Has anyone heated and opened up their headlight so they can be painted. I have done this with the headlights on my truck. Never seen it here. The goal would be to reduce the chrome and darken them up a bit. Thx.

I wouldn't mess with it, if it were me....But If I were to..I'd get a set of lights as an extra pair and experiment with them before I'd f-ck up the only set I had...

Do some searching here, I believe there have been a few members that have done / tried it. IIRC the glue that holds our headlights together is extremely strong and it was very difficult to pry apart the lights. I have also done this on several other vehicles but was dissuaded from trying it on the XF because of what I read here.

Someone definitely did it, but they had a company do it for them.

just sent them a message for prices on morimoto CCFL angel eyes or the "audi" strips. Going to play around and photoshop a few pics to see which one looks best. Thanks for putting these guys out there. I have been wondering how to get this done for a few months now!!!
