Default Help: Part Number

Anyone know what this part number is? Its a clip that holds carpet in place under passenger side dash. I broke it while trying to remove the carpet to replace the cabin filter.

Contact Jaguar? Those small parts are sometimes only available with the entire assembly. If so then EBay and see if used is possible?

Ah, yes, the flimsy, floppy, useless carpet above your feet in the front seats. I hate that stuff. Both sides on mine are basically droopy blankets. Such a terrible design.

Side note, the hood liner on my Audi uses those same clips, only a tad smaller. Once removed, I always try to open the clips up a lot wider, so they'll have more tension when reinstalled. I'm probably playing with fire, but I haven't had one break yet.

Glad JW chimed in with the part #.

They are called "hush panels" and I largely fixed the sag/droop on my old XFS and XFR by sticking a thin strip of double sided tape along each front edge of the metal where the clips go in and pushing the panel up to the tape. The F-Type has no such thing and some have commented on the bare unfinished look under the dash and glovebox.

The front of the panels aren't where I have the problem, it's the rears, near the firewall. I ended up punching holes in them and using zip-ties to hold them up. Is there a better way?

Whenever I needs parts, the FIRST place I look is Jaguar. This tells me two things:

1. availability
2. cost - now I have something to compare

Sometimes cost comes as an unpleasant surprise but quite often it is sufficiently reasonable to make searching elsewhere a waste of time. The C2C28479 clip is a case in point:

Aftermarket suppliers aren't always cheaper. However, you won't know how they compare unless you check Jaguar prices first.
