I am currently on a 24 hour hold to purchase a 2013 XF. Mileage is 63,906 asking price $17,990
I am happy to post the VIN if needed. I was curious if anyone had this model. Heard anything about the model. Everything looked good car with the exception of some recalls.
Any thoughts? Concerns? Thanks

Hi - welcome!! Can you post a few more details
- which spec/trim of XF
- what engine?
- your country (is that US dollars?)
Things to look for
- full service history. These engines need regular oil changes. And overheating can harm them quickly
- would prob pay for a professional inspection from someone who knows the XF. Aside from the usual brakes, rotors, tyres etc pay particular attention to cooling system. Would have it pressure tested. Lots of plastic parts that age with heat / cool cycles and you are about the time they will fail. Have they been replaced yet (crossover cooling pipes, hoses etc). If not, would budget for that
- water pumps can age and leak surprisingly early. I'd assume it has been done once already (at least). May need it again
- listen for timing chain issues. Usually higher mileage than that (and more common on the V8 pre 2013) but good to be aware as that's a costly repair.
- check for stored fault codes
I've not been following pricing. But that sounds a bit high to me - people aren't buying sedans any more.... But I know used prices have risen recently so I may be wrong on that
Overall a good example is a great car. But be thorough on ensuring it's good!!

To answer your question, ask the dealer to supply you a Carfax report. It will state the service history, accident data, type of use, & ownership history. If you are buying in a reputable car dealerships like Jaguar, the car has been checked all throughout. Other used car dealers gives warranty up to 90 days. Make sure everything is functioning, electric windows, sunroofs (if any) A/C, horns, electric seats, mirrors, wipers, etc. BritCars did a lot of solid good points & advises in buying your XF.
The prices of used car prices had gone up in the last 2 months due to the chip shortages worldwide & panic among new & used car buyers that the Feds might increase interest rates. Right now there are few inventories of used Jaguars at Carmax, Vroom, Carvana & other used car dealers.
