I want to carry out a compression test on my 2013 SC AWD XF and check condition of cylinder walls and valves while I am at it. To do that I need to disable fuel pump, and this is where I need your help:
Workshop manual just says "remove fuel pump fuse" in one instance and "remove fuel pump relay" in the other. It also states there is a fuel pump fuse in rear junction box.
Handbook says there is NO fuel pump fuse in RJB or any other junction box
I have got myself a wiring diagrams and they are saying that both relay and fuse for fuel pump are outside of RJB and I must follow the wires to find them (see attachments). Let me know if you'd like me to share those diagrams.
My vehicle has 3 fuel pumps. One electric located in the fuel tank and two located on the engine that seem to be mechanical. However wiring diagrams clearly show wiring going from ECM to them and back.
My questions are:
1) Do I understand correctly that I need to find some sort of connector in RJB that has red, yellow / purple, green / orange, green / blue, black, gray / orange and purple / orange wires and then follow either red one to find a fuel pump relay or yellow / purple one to find the fuse?
2) Do I need to disable those two engine pumps? If so how to do that?
My 2003 Tacoma TRD Manual had a button to override the clutch being depressed while starting. The idea was to allow the vehicle to crawl in 4-Low using the torque from the electric starter motor while off roading.
