Got a loner. It is the base model RWD.

Wow, talk about zero throttle response.

No heated wheel, front park assist, dipping mirrors, blind spot monitor, etc...

The lower level leather is like hard vinyl.

I am looking to order an F-pace for my wife and I was debating on a lower trim level with the lessor leather, and the 4cyl TD. Nope, looks like I will need to step up and get the mid-level model.

I am too spoiled.

I just hope the dealer can finally fix my squeaky passenger seat this time. This is the 3rd trip back. Uggg.

The long and the short of it...people "live with" what they can afford.

I don't think that asking someone how they live with what you see as garbage, and they more than likely see as their pride and joy is going to win you any popularity contests...IMHO of course.

Wow, you must be one of those people that get offended easily.

I did not call it junk, but said I was spoiled with what I am used to.

I am having a hard time getting a smooth start with the 4 cyl. I am expecting a certain response with a given input and when it does not happen as expected, I compensate by going more, then boost happens and it is a bit jerky.

And I am surprised by the differences between the different grades of leather. Confuses me why Jag would not just use the same grade of leather in a upscale car.

You would think having to "stock" more than one grade of something would raise the cost of both options instead of buying in larger scale to lower cost across all the models.

Nope, don't get offended easily at all, and am generally never pc either.

However, it was instilled in me growing up that there are 2 things you never do to another mans car...never ever touch it without their permission, and never call it down or make fun of it no matter what you think. As I said...IMHO

I don't enjoy the lower grade of leather either if that helps. It's as good as anyone else's lower grade stuff (if the others aren't substituting vinyl) but the higher grade stuff is soooo damn nice.

And the 4 cyl Turbo requires you to be in Sport to even somewhat behave in town. On the freeway, Drive is fine. But trying to turn against a signal is worrying to say the least when there is lag that pronounced.

I will try driving in sport with the loaner. I don't do it with my V8SC because I don't like running at high revs all the time.

Exactly. Just no need unless you're on a winding road and you want to show it who's boss. Works very well then, keeping you with power out of the turns and engine braking going into them.

In normal driving I always use Drive and Dynamic together. Seems to ride better to me for some reason. And I know it's not mental because I can be driving and feel like something's off and then I realize I didn't hit the Dynamic button.

I actually got my only XF ticket for speeding in a 4 banger T loaner. Had to keep the gas matted to get anything resembling performance out of that motor.

Just be glad you got to experience the thrill of a Jaguar V8. Seems like they aren't going to be introducing a new 8 cyl. Power plant for a while. All they are pushing is the SC V6.

My plan as of now is that when I retire the 13 XF, my kids will be out of the house and I can go back to a 2-seater. (Probably 3years from now)

F-Type V8.

Have you driven one, yet? I haven't but I've sat in them in the showroom.
They are very tight inside.

I had the good fortune to drive both the R and S at an event on a short autocross track and you are correct. Very tight, so much so that at 6'4", I will never be able to have one.
