How the heck does the top engine plasstic POS cover go back on a 5.0 Super XF
Changed my oil today and am at wits end trying to put the cover back on. Lined it up and slit it back to the two rubber pegs ont he firewall for the past hour and it won't slide onto them regarless of how I try to position it. Makes me want to light the thing on fire and find the person responsible for the design and light them on fire. LOL JK but seriously, any insight?

I found that the best way was to tilt it up a bit at the front and slide the back end under the firewall/cowl area, until the plugs are positioned over the pegs, then drop the front down and position it over the front pegs, then press them all down. Lots of trial and error to get those darned rear plugs to line up with the rear pegs!
But by far the best solution is to just leave the damnable thing off permanently, it traps a helluva lot of heat and heat at the top of the engine is a major cause of coolant system hose/pipe/tube failures on the AJ133 SC, and it also contributes to heat soak which sometimes causes it to go into "fail safe" reduced power mode.
Just leave it off!

Yes, it can be a PITA to get back on properly.

5 minute oil change. 2 hours to put the cover back on.
