How much oil is in your 4.2 engine?
I have a long running feud with my dealership about overfilling the sump on an oil change.
First time they put 8 liters in and I took out a liter and a half at least to get the oil level back down to the drilled hole marked "MAX".
Second time they put in 7 liters (claiming that the spec is for 6.8 liters) and I took out half a liter to get the level right.
I informed my dealer this time that they would be taking the extra oil out and they should read the Owner's Handbook which says 6.0 liters for an oil and filter change.
This time they put in 6.7 liters.
The dipstick shows about half a liter too much oil. This morning I got the service manager to agree that they have screwed up all three oil changes.
Anybody else getting too much oil?
