Does your model have the DVD in the boot, or does it update via USB?

Hi there, there seems to be no DVD in the boot and there is a USB socket in the cente console. I have looked in the settings menu but can't see any update options. I did read somewhere about connecting the car to the internet but mine seems to be before that as there is no option I can find. Thanks for any help :-)

Your car should have the satnav InControl 2.1 with internal hard disk, update is done with an USB stick. The update procedure itself is pretty straight forward, just plug in the USB stick into the USB port inside the center console and follow the instructions on the display. Be patient, the update process progress is updated only every 5%, which may take several minutes for every 5%-step. Contradictory to what some say you can stop the car engine during the process, the update will pick up again when you start the car. Just be patient in case the update process does not seem to continue after restarting the car… wait 10minutes, and you’ll see that it picked up where it left. Just never pull out the USB stick as long as the update has not completed 100%.

The real challenge in your case seems to get an updated map. Checking both Jaguar and HERE (the map provider) does not list any maps for New Zealand. Maybe that’s because I’m searching from Europe, you might be successful when searching locally.

Then you need to get the updated firmware on a USB stick and plug it in, I think you also need an activation code (I don't have this version so I'm not 100% sure).

I am new to forum so not sure if I am doing this correctly. However I have a MY15 XF with CD/ DVD in dash (Australia) I had the update about twelve months ago via the jaguar Land Rover dealer and they upgraded it with a Tomtom Jaguar Australia 22 and NZ 11 version. They left the DVD, manual and cover. The manual indicates you go to www.navshop.com.au and buy map updates. Personally not tried it.
