Default I Phone interface

I just picked up my 2009 SC XF. Whenever I connect my iPhone 4s all I can do is listen to my library and the home screen just say accessories connected. I cannot go to my main menu on my phone. I want to listen to pandora, what do I need to do? Please help.
I am still new at this forum.

Thanks in advance.
Sunil

Do you have the USB port or just the accessory socket?

Without the USB port you can't do what you are asking to do.

'09 came with either a 6 CD changer or a single CD player with a USB port in the center console for MP3 functionality.

I am pretty sure you plug the iPod or iPhone into the USB port to get full functionality.

However, the iPhone or iPod will not charge through the USB port due to Apple capriciously changing charging voltage to 5 down from 12 and reassigning the connector pin for charging. An adapter cable is required.
