Default illuminating Grille Badge Emblem

Does anyone have any ideas on creating an illuminating ring around the Jag logo on the front grille. I am jealous that Mercedes has this an an option.

I was thinking that you could modify the Grill Badge emblem with a strong LED behind. I am waiting for my slow boat from China emblem.

Any ideas ?

Like the one they have on the commercial for the XFR?

Maybe they just use camera trickery to make it look illuminated.

Been working on a project to do this and I'm nearly there, just got to fit it to the car and wire in to the lights.

Hopefully tomorrow or next weekend. Will post pics when done

Looks like they just shined a light on it. Perhaps its the headlights of the other cars running away.

Interesting idea though, never thought of that. Personally Id just like to make mine red like that one in the commercial.

You can buy the red emblem and swap it into your grill if you want a red one. Search the forums. There was a thread with part numbers for the various years. The one in the commercial is not lighting up. It is the reflection coming from the other cars headlights.

Where did you get what looks like screens for the vents on the bumper? I'm also interested in the badge if you have some extra time.

The screen you said!! I custom my self, i made a hole on the bumper almost like the XFR 2014 then bought a grill and the surroundding.
The emblem has tocome out, buy LED color of your choice-take the emblem apart, glue or solder the led around the edge then sick the round chrome Jaguar piece on top of the LED, wire it up using the parking light and ur all set.

Thanks! You say LED, is it a pucket, ring, or a certain one that you used. Do you have a link or pic of what type of LED.

I used a strip led from Autozone, cut it and stich it. I got the ones that light up on the side, not the one that lights up on top.

That would be great! Cause I'm still having a hard time visualizing the process and how you secured the LED strip.

Great minds think a like ! I just put on a red jaguar on the front grille to replace the black one. Looking at how I can potentially install a angel eyez ring.

Look forward to the pictures and how to.
