Default I'm such an idiot - nice ding

I had the heat on in the garage to do the brake pads on my wife's vehicle. The heat clearly softened some of the plastic wicker of our winter stored outdoor furniture that was stacked at the front end of my car in it's spot. I heard a but of a thump and looked up to see an end table falling toward the hood of the XF. Too far to get there in time and it left a rather deep ding near the front of my beautiful hood. Makes me sick....and nobody to blame but myself. Just venting. Arrrrgggghhhhh!

Aluminum hood. Might be a simple repair.

I have now twice caused a dimple dent behind the drivers door handle by opening the door into the door mirror of the car next to mine. The first time was my wife's Alfa in our garage. Doh! That got fixed and a few months later I did exactly the same thing in a tight parking spot next to a Mercedes. Double Doh!

Find a good, really good PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) guy. I have one here in the Charlotte area that does a fantastic job on aluminum. Travis comes by semi annually.

Such things can happen, the point is you should learn what to and what not to

Sorry to see that - I can imagine how you feel.

Hopefully the dent guy gets it out.
Hard to say from the pictures, but is the hood line affected?

It's slightly into the crease yes.

Good luck! The hood line maybe be an issue though.

When I had Travis come out the first time, I had a ding in the hood, he had a rough time with it. He was able to remove all but a very tiny "paint blemish", he said its not perfect so I won't charge you for that one.
