Default Infotainment screen blacking out.

I have a 2013 3.0D Sportbrake and the only (current) fault is with the infotainment screen. Generally it is fine, but on long trips, about once every hour it will suddenly go black, display the leaper, and then return to normal. Feels like a reboot, although the music plays without interuption whilst it happens. Then this afternoon, started the car and the screen stayed black. Music still played and the touch screen still responded - just guessing where the hot spots were. A few miles later, it displayed the leaper and carried on as normal.

I assume there is an intermittent connection somewhere - possibly as a result of my having it out of the dash a few months ago to fit an android auto box - which is working perfectly by the way.

Any positive suggestions, other than pull it out again, contact spray the connections and see what happens?

Have a search and a read of the threads that discuss water in the bluetooth module and fibre-optic circuit. This thread is very long but will give you the info you need:
