Default ipod connectivity

Hi all,
Wondering what sort of ipod connectivity the xf';s come out with. I currently own a s type r and the ipod connectivity is very limited with the Jaguar ACM that I fitted. Is the ipod connectivity properly intergarated with the later models e.g. able to search artists, songs, Genres and playlists etc. Would be interested to know.
regards
Joe

On my 11 it works very well. Make sure the dealer throws in the proprietary Jaguar to iPod cable with your purchase. I've seen those listed anywhere from $75 - $300. In other news, apple may be changing the type of dock connector on it's products in the next model cycle.

Sadly my iPod was stolen from my car the other night. Luckily, they left the cable.

MY 2010 MY has reasonable connectivity. A USB to iPhone/iPod connector cable is supplied with the car (apparently goes missing for a lot of second hand cars) which does not charge iPhone/iPod touches (Apple moved from 12v to 5v charging and the 2010 MY Jag supports 12 v charging only, you need an adapter to charge later iPhones etc.). You get to see playlists etc. as folders. Playlist/song selection is clumsy but works however it requires too much attention while driving and needs to be done with the car stationary. Searching is non existent. You have to manually scan through the song/playlists. It is also very slow to move through selections etc. Genre's are not shown, but the basic split between music, podcasts etc. are identified as separate folders.

I have the B & W sound system which is quite good so I have no playback quality issues as such.

I found the BMW iDrive much faster and easier to use, but the Jag integration is only adequate.

I cannot speak to the 2012 MY as they have the XJ media module which is supposed to be much better.
