Default Jaguar Voice Not Ready

Hello Everyone,

Just picked up a 2010 XFR and am very happy with all of the features. However, when I press the Voice button on the steering wheel, the display reads "Voice Not Ready". Does any one have any ideas as to what I am doing incorrectly?

Thanks in advance for the help.
George

Default Read down to "What gives?"

Jaguar it seems have blocked access to this "feature". It doesn't work anyway so you're not missing much.

So this means that basically the bluetooth option is of no use since I can't use the jaguar voice system to dial the phone.

Hi, George.

I had the same problem with my 2010 XF, when we were test driving it. The salesman had no idea why it was giving the "not ready" message, but said he'd put it in the shop for a check. I bought the car anyway, and about half an hour after driving away from the dealership, it started working. It's worked ever since.

Personally, I use it quite often. It works great (for me) as long as you don't rush your speaking. I'm from the South, so I don't normally have that problem!

Hope you figure it out.

It works for me as well. My biggest problem is forgetting the buzz word commands when I want to dial a number. What else do people use it for?

Mines work great for me as well, although, I forget half of the commands. The voice system in my infiniti worked better though. It could adjust the temp and radio stations at a touch of a button then speaking clearly. I used it mostly to show off. My wife called it my other women... LOL...

Some of the newer systems work just fine and seem to have better voice recognition and have prompts that don't belong in the FORTRAN era. Hopefully Jaguar's next system will bring them into the 21st C.

Mostly for dialing numbers. I can never remember most of the navigation keywords. However, I did get it to show all gas stations once

Hello all,

thanks for the responses. I took the car to the local dealer and after a two days of work, it seems that the selling dealer put in a Land Rover navigation disc. Doh!

I just left the dealership and was able to have them re-activate the Jaguar voice. They had to get permission from the regional office and then get Jaguar technical support to help with the programming.
