Jaguar XF Battery Charge
#21
When we bought our 2009 XF, I kept getting the "LOW BATTERY Acc will shut down in 30 sec" message so I had the battery checked. The battery was good but was not charged. When the alternator was checked, it was defective and was replaced. I'm still getting the "LOW BATTERY Acc will shut down in 30 sec" message, though, and it does shut down accessories after a couple minutes. Is it a bad battery?

Hi I have a 09 XF SC. Battery went dead and the trunk key will not work. I have read a bunch about other Jags having an alternate charging post/terminal somewhere on the vehicle but I haven't seen anything on the XF.
Can anyone confirm if there is another way to charge up the XF so I can use the electric trunk release to get to the battery to apply a full charge?
Thanks!

I drive 4 miles each way weekdays, and use the seat heater, steering wheel heater and headlights both ways half the year, so my battery doesn't get a good charge. A strong battery is therefore key. I think part of the problem is that the Jaguar batteries are not very good. I bought a Duralast Platinum AGM and have had good luck with that, both in my Jaguar and in my other car which sits idle most of the time.
I've also noticed what others have said -- if you go in and out of the car without driving it, that causes a huge drain. If you do that for 3 days without driving the car on a weak battery, you'll likely have a dead battery.

Don’t use battery plus bulbs.
I bought one from them 2 years ago, and it’s completely dead. All which could happen with any battery.
The problem is... they want 24 hours to charge and do diagnostic. The warranty actually says 2 days.
So you are supposed to be without your car for up to 2 days, so they see if your battery is under warranty?!?!
I told them most places require an hour or just do a quick check.
Luckily I have another car I can drive.
