The issue occurs when I press gas to accelerate (even very very smoothly). When i'm moving on idle - everything is fine. After this initial 'clunk' - everything is fine, shifts are smooth, there is no slippage and etc. Or, at least, it's not obvious for me.
A couple of days ago it was snowing very hard and had to turn off DSC to be able to get to the garage. During the 'slippage' of wheels I occasionally felt some 'clicks' through the pedal and it could hear it. But still - the power delivery was perfect and nothing else was noticeably wrong.
What can it be? Engine mounts, transmission fault of some sort?
I would be very grateful if you could help me and point out where should I take a look.
If it only happens once at around 10mph then its your ABS doing a self check. Its normal. I cant hear the sound in the video to determine if that is indeed what it is.
First off the XF's suspension and driveline is VERY BMW like, so my second search for XF chassis info is always in BMW forums. Having said that, I would start looking at things like the driveshaft guibo couple, the center bearing support, the differential bushings and suspension bushings.
If it only does it once after starting up, it is the ABS self-test. If every acceleration from a stop you hear it, my vote goes to engine/trans mounts. The engine rocks from the low end torque and you would feel it by the seat of your pants. This guy ripped up his in just a few thousand miles.
Mine does something semi similar. I posted about it. It only happens right when taken off after starting the car cold, only once, and only when turning sharp (such as pulling out of the driveway). I have come to believe that it's maybe something in the electronic diff locking/unlocking when cold.
