Just bought 2013 5.0 Supercharged
Hello, I'm new to the forum. Just bought a 2013 XF 5.0 Supercharged that I've always wanted. Wife has a 2015 RRS 5.0 Supercharged w/ 30k mile now (bought brand new). I always liked that 5.0 and the ZF 8 speed works really well.
Just curious, anything that I should watch for down the road, in terms of engine, supercharger, or any electrical? The ZF 8hp tranny? The XF has 77,000 miles on it, it has clean carfax, one owner, it recently had fuel rail seals and one leaky injector repaired, valve cover gasket, fresh oil.
Any reply would be much appreciated!

Nice, just bought the exact same car, 85k miles. Made me forget about every car i’ve drove before this. Absolutely in love.
i’ve done a lot of research and seems the motor’s are pretty reliable, there are a few parts that tend to wear out around 80-100k like the plastic coolant hoses & lines and water pump. Small things like that. I paid for a full carfax report and with a car like this I can say it’s definitely worth it knowing whats been done because I found that my water pump was already replaced along with a few other things.
my front brake rotors & pads were just replaced, the rears are due as well. Other than that I don’t think the car will give me any issues any other car wouldn’t for the miles its been driven. Just watch for coolant leaks!
Congrats and enjoy!

13 5.0 Supercharged
Thank you Kgoudie! People around me somehow tried stopping me from buying British cars, I've owned several Mercs, BMWs, Audi, Porsche, Lexus. Since 2015, we acquired the L494 RRS Supercharged, which my wife insist, we absolute fell in love with how British cars crafts, how different we are than others! I just sold my 2008 M6 6 speed manual, trying to just stick with British car family. Now we have 1 Jag XF, 1 RRS and 1 Evoque in our family, I guess more Jags to go! Cheers!

Did you get the XFR? Congrats. 2013 XFR you should be pretty solid as the timing chain issues were prior to 2013 5.0 engines from what I recall which were the main big issue.
Only issues I would be worried about is mainly the coolant pipes. You will see many people on this forum going through that issue as eventually if you are in a Hot and Cold Climate you will pretty much have to change those darn things sometime when they end up failing/cracking. This coolant pipe issue affects almost all modern jaguars because they use the same kind of pipes. This coolant pipe issue affects many other luxury car brands too like audis for example where they get coolant leaks due to the same issue.
Just read up on the coolant pipe issues so you are aware and ready if/when it happens and you save your amazing engine.
Cool thing about this engine is you can change the oil without raising the car using the extraction pump technique.
Enjoy

You're well past the time to replace ALL the hoses and pipes under the hood. MY wife's 2011 XF only has 49K mi on it and it just blew the rear crossover pipe.
The car is up on my portable lift with half the junk on top of the engine removed and another half to go. In fact it's only a few miles from you if you're in MV.
I have $700 worth of rubber and plastic on it's way, but there's more still to buy. Of course, it's not the parts but the WORK required to get to anything on this motor. To get to the rear crossover, even the throttle body and inlet manifold has to be removed and it's still a horrible job with no clearance.
Not trying to scare you but many guys on this forum have blown motors because one of the MANY plastic pipes got brittle and blew.
