As the "proud" new owner of an OBDSTAR H100, and finally in possession of two keys for my '12, just wanted to say this worked as the video indicated.

No clue what else I'm gonna use that device for, but it was $80 less than the dealer wanted to program my new fob.

Had a question, i know this is an old tread, but does the H100 add the new keyfob to the system or is it just copying the original key fob.

Not exactly sure how it (re)programs the new key fob.
I made two “new” fobs using the OBDSTAR H100 and both needed a working key in close proximity to do so, so I’m assuming there is some “copying” involved?

First one I made from the damaged original I had and second one I made from the fresh fob I just programmed.

FWIW…One was made using a brand new “knock-off” fob and one using an original Jaguar fob that had been wiped clean.

Yes those are key cloning devices which are different from the factory method of adding additional keys to the car. It can work well but they are just copies of the original key.

My problem is this. The transponder within the key is working as I can start the engine, however before using the key to program it to the car I cannot make the car enter the key programming mode by flashing the head lights etc. The light on the J panel does not light up and the buttons on the key do not show any reaction from the car. Talking to Jaguar mechanics it is obvious that I seem to know more than they do gained from forums such as yours. Any suggestions.

You can't program keys with just the car. Needs SDD or some aftermarket device.

The Autel AP200 says it can copy a good key & is a cheaper alternative than other options. You also get a quality 7 digit code reader with plenty of service options!
