Keyless control unit is broken

Keyless control unit is broken
I have had a few faults creep up on the car over the years and have just taken it to an Auto Electrician who has managed to put a good deal of them right. However, he was unable to rectify the keyless control. Neither key is being recognised by the car anymore! Apparently the control unit which communicates with the keys is broken. I called Jaguar about this, and they want silly money just to book the car in and plug a computer into it to tell me that the control unit is broken!
Does anyone know of a specialist that might be able to sort this for me around the Oxford/Warwick/Northampton areas?
It's an '08 XF 2.7 diesel it that's of any importance.
Thanks.

If in fact the unit is defective, the SDD software will be required at the dealer to verify it as well as to reprogram the keys on the new unit. I don't see any other way around it though. But I have heard of some key makers around who have software capabilities to reprogram keys. I am not sure though about unit replacement since it will have to come from Jaguar.
