Lack of rear compartment "features"

I am by no means looking to trade out my driver's seat position for any other seat in the house, but does anyone else think it is strange that features such as rear heated seats and rear temperature control are not available on any model of XF even as options? Also, the cupholders back there look like they were sourced from the Dollar Store... Seems like all the usual suspect competitors are doing more in this area.
Also, in the rear seat overhead lighting panel, the right and left lights come on with the door opening (or, of course, when switched on as reading lights), but the there looks to be another light that is between those two, but never illuminates, at least on my car - is it supposed to?

I think that if you asked the designers they would say if you want something nicer in the back, just get an XJ. I think they realize that the rear seat in the XF isn't a place that anyone larger/older than adolescent children will spend any significant time, so why spend the time and effort offering options that few will use or be willing to pay for? XJ will be the answer to all those questions.
Not sure on the light. I'll check when I get home unless someone answers this prior.

Must just be there for the aesthetic balance then - And I agree that the answer from Jaguar is probably that you can get those features on the XJ, but when you can get them on vehicles like a 5 Series, E-Class, GS, A6/A7, etc. it seems like there is a gap in the surprise and delight side of things...

I can't wait for someone to say these features are not there because they're dangerous, and that the XF has it "perfect" like they have the suspension perfect. You know, if there was a high temperature warning light for the seat heater, that would be a dangerous feature... LOL

I can see the newspaper article now - "Jaguar sued by man who received emergency room treatment for a badly burned gluteus maximus caused by excessive seat heating. When asked why he didn't simply switch it off, he claimed to have been waiting for warning light to illuminate." Trouble, is, that guy would probably win the suit here in the US!
