I had the dealer change the summer tires to Blizzaks and do an oil change. They replaced the TPMS module that seemed to have a mind of its own and went from tire to tire even when the air pressure was within a couple of pounds all around.
They did something called "K098 XF software enhancement". The dealer was less than cooperative about explaining what it covered. Has anyone heard about this "enhancement"? The car had a "K061" upgrade several months ago.
Thanks

Dunno what it is but it is a necessary update. Dealer servuce rep may not actually know what it does though his mechanics will.
According to posts on another site it updates the in car entertainment and other electrical systems to get them to shut down sooner after switch off to eliminate battery problems experienced by some owners.
As it applies also to the diesels it is not an engine related update.

Only an oil change is specified. They may suggest the rear brake pads are needing replacement but I suspect they assess the remaing mileage left in the pads very conservatively.
There is nothing specified other than oil and filter which costs me around $160 at my dealer! Make sure they don't try to put in 7 liters if you have the 4.2 as it only holds 6.5 with filter.

I assumed you meant kilometers from your location. I have not yet reached 50,000 km (30,000 miles) so do not know what that service may involve. Probably the cabin and engine air filters at least. Brake fluid should be flushed every 2 years though mine has not yet been done. From all reports you will need new brake pads and probably rotors at least at the rear and probably all around at 50,000 km. The new pad materials wear out rotors astonishingly quickly. The spark plugs are extremely long life plugs, I think the X Type were in there for 100,000 km or so before needing a change. There is nothing else to service.

Wow thanks for all of the info. When I bought the car, they agreed to mount the winter tires free of charge and put the summer tires back on in the spring. The oil change was also "free of charge" and was also part of the deal. The cost for the tire change was $120 and the oil change was about $60.
More info, the car was making a noise when running. The mechanic did not "hear" the noise, brought it back today another mechanic did hear it and the confirmed that it most likely was the water pump. The car has 18,000 miles and now this. Back it goes on Tuesday. I'll keep you posted.
Did drive the 2012 XF with the sport package, the nav system is a major improvement as is the sport package. I would only get one that has the BW system, yes it is expensive, but what a difference. They are itching to make a deal...hmmm.

I had mine replaced all around with Porterfield pads a few months ago, well before they needed replacing just because the brake dust was driving me crazy. Now, brake dust is a thing of the past, and my car looks cleaner much longer without black wheels. I highly recommend Porterfield pads.

OK the water pump was replaced an I got the car back the same day.
My larger complaint is that the original mechanic knew we were complaining about a noise coming from the car heard "nothing" and did not fully investigate. Yes, I know that many car owners complain all of the time and what they hear is normal.
It wasn't until I was out one night and my wife and I heard the very same noise again that we had been hearing and I opened the hood and heard the "death rattle" from the water pump. Apparently we caught it early enough that no coolant leaked and we were not stranded.
