Default Leaping cat hood ornament

Anyone ever thought of putting one on a XF? I always thought that was the coolest thing on a Jag. Pics if someone seen or has one please?

I have seen a XF with the "leaper". We thought about adding one to our 2011 XF; but it just didn't look right to us. I think with the way the hood slopes it was angled down. But I guess that is a personal preference. I had seen a picture of one but I can't remember where, Sorry.

I was wondering when I saw some with and most without the Leaper, when I was shopping around for my XFR. And thank goodness most agree it seems out of place. I was starting to worry it was just me.

Default My XF Leaper

So I went for it and fitted my leaper. I'm pleased with the result, it gets many admiring looks and is instantly recognizable.

I've seen it on XF's a couple times. It didn't look right to me. My wife likes it. But she's a snob and wants to advertise that it's a jag. They are kind of rare where I live. I might see one every month or two.

If you put the leaper on the XF, you need to complete the look with chrome curb feelers.

Most of the leapers on the hood from photos I've seen look really out of place. If you go on the XF facebook group page you'll get a shaming by 95% of the folks there. It's not worth the people giving you their input on it, plus if you don't like the look, you'll have a couple of holes in the hood. Resale value will also probably go down.

This was one of the most distinctive parts of Jags for years but it just does not look right on the XF. Am I right in assuming that it was not an option for any XF?

Wasn't an option in the UK. It was available in the US.

My MY2010 has one on it.
I think I'd also prefer it without, though I'm pretty sure it's the one thing on the car that immediately lets everyone know...... "Yes, I'm a Jaguar"

No, they stopped using it for pedestrian safety reasons.
They then changed the contour of the hood so that it doesn't fit anymore.
