Default Leather seats stretching

Hi, I recently took delivery of my XF with Sports pack, meaning it has the perforated leather seats. After roughly 4 weeks and 1100 miles, the leather of the seats markedly stretched, so that it now seems too large for the seat, or perhaps the seat cushion compressed. I am a 200 pounder, so by no means a light weight, but my X-Type did not show this behaviour. Granted, the XF leathers seem very different, but me thinks that something is wrong. Anybody else have that problem?

Hans

Mine has about the same mileage and the drivers seat leather is wrinkled considerably on the door side where I get in an out. I am no light weight either and best your 200 lbs. quite a bit. Interestlngly, my recent Jaguar new owner's survey had questions concerning the seat material. The leather seams very soft and not as supported as other cars I have owned.

My 2011 with 12,000 miles does not appear to have stretched. Looks like the passenger side only slightly more worn, but not more than any other car I've had. I weigh 230.

Mine is slightly stretched too. Which i am not happy about after spending all the money on a new car. I will have to see if the dealer can replace it.

Replace it with the same exact material that is there now?? Uh last time i checked if you sit in the seat it will streach the material. Just like brakes wear when used

Yes, i am aware that seats stretch when you seat on it. Not after 3000 miles. My lincoln ls had 125,000 on it and wasn't as stretched as Jaguar's seat is.
So, Lincoln puts better quality materials in their cars?

No stiffer and thicker, not as soft, and was the lincoln material perforated or solid. It makes a differance?

It was perforated. Had cooled and heated seats.

Well go talk to them, maybe look at some others. But differant car, company and suppliers for spec. Just i know what the definition of insanity is and unless something is made differantly, you get the same result youve always gotten

Talked to dealer, claims it is normal. I am also aware that leather stretches, but not at this rate in so short of a time. Besides, I am almost thinking that the seat material compressed as opposed to the lather stretching in this case, creating this unseemly fold.

Hans,

Check the link and you will see that it is normal for the seats in these cars to stretch like that. Very disappointing, but oh well......

Hi,
Thanks for the link. I did a simialr search but you found more compelling evidence. One clearly deduce the owner's butt size onsome of these images. I agree they could have done a better job there.

Ide worry less about seats and keep and eye on the dash around the center speaker, those wrinkles are NOT normal
