Default License Plate LEDs

Pictures attached. Easy install. Took all of 5 minutes. Purchased the LEDs from VLED. Could go a bit brighter which I will on the door lamps.

Great product brand and nice pix. I got the same but in red so the whole rear of the Cat looks uniform, also not to make it easy for a cop to read my plate if I was slightly speeding.lol

No codes activated. You can replace the interior lights too with no problems.

So I just "installed" the driver side puddle light LED. Such an improvement over the OEM. However, in the process of pulling out the housing I broke the housing clip. PIA to pull out!! So I will have the dealership install the passenger side and replace the driver side housing! Overall happy with the look minus the cost to replace the housing ($30.00).

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics! Took pictures of driver side and passenger side so you can see the difference.

I tried and broke the tabs on the LAMP housing. So I just bought new LAMP housings and plugged back in. The dealership would have charged me $45 a side to replace the LEDS. The housing were about $30.00 a piece. Probably would have made more sense to have the dealership do it.

I understand some people have been able to do it by angling the mirror up as far as it will go and then using a thin screwdriver to release the plastic tab in the light housing. However a number of people have broken the tabs so it's recommended to heat up the lamp housing with a hair dryer to make it less brittle. If you use LED then I understand it needs to be error-free canbus type.

I have my LED replacements and hope to have a go this weekend.
