Default Lighter and mirrors

Hello Folks,

1. where is the cigarrette lighter on my Portfolio?
2. How do I fold the mirrors on the car when parked?

Yes I did read the manual and no reference.

There isn't one.

You get out of the car and fold them in manually.

LOL. My '10 XF SC had one on the smaller front console compartment where the ash tray accessory would go. Generic would work fine I'm sure if the top is shallow, I'm sure it's a ludicrously priced dealer accessory otherwise.

I had an accessory lighter installed in my 09 to power my GPS. Lighter installs between the two cupholders under the 2nd cover (leaves one cupholder too small to use); there is an ashtray that replaces the forward cupholder, which I didn't have them install.

Sorry, let me add emphasis:

I had an accessory lighter installed in my 09 **TO POWER MY GPS.** Lighter installs between the two cupholders under the 2nd cover (leaves one cupholder too small to use); there is an ashtray that replaces the forward cupholder, **WHICH I DIDN'T HAVE THEM INSTALL**.

Just kidding. There is one power outlet in the main console cubby but it is a long way from the windshield. I bought a battery powered radar detector because of that. I mount my GPS in a RAM branded mount suctioned to a cup holder insert also sold by RAM. it is a bit low down but that windshield is a loooong way away for a GPS. I suppose one of those weighted dash pad suction mounts might work except the dash top slopes downwards.

Sorry, missed the humor. I have an antique Garmin, old heavy model where the speaker is mounted on the cord near the plug, so needs to be out where I can hear it. Being heavy, it works great on a "beanbag" mount on the dash, easily swiveled to either driver or passenger, whichever's navigating.

Belated thanks, by the way; a year or more ago you told me my brake snapping was coming from the booster. I printed out your opinion, and the dealer replaced the booster based on that (even though they couldn't duplicate), and haven't had a pop since.

Here it is: - the "smoker's pack" shown on this page:

Jaguar International - XF Accessories - Interior

Blimey, looks like the forum replaces the link with the title - but if you google this title, the link you want should be at the top of the pile.

You may have to zoom the page to see the details. There are two photos side-by-side. The left photo is of the double cup holder, which has been replaced by a cupholder and a part-cupholder, with the lighter between. The right photo is the ash tray (bucket) which fits inside the forward cupholder (the part I didn't have installed).

According to the installation instructions, it is "Part No. C2Z 5723", for model year 2008.25.
There is also a number 8X23-19H298-AA, which may be the number of the instruction sheet.

Hope this helps.

I will be busy the next couple of days, but if you send me your PM I can scan the installation instructions. I suspect all you need, though, is a helpful parts guy and a little cash. I have no memory of what it cost; it was installed before the car was delivered.

I drove a '12 today, and they have rearranged the cupholders to include a standard power receptacle, so there's no equivalent accessory for the '12.
