So I painted my larger growler red and shimmed it out so there was a space around the outer edge. The plinth in the first gen grille fits the larger growler but it does sit flush but once spaced a bit further it leaves a 1/8" or so perfect gap. I mounted a led ring behind it and it kind of worked but the black just reflected the led chips. Cool but not right. So then I painted the recess the same red so it matched the growler and wow! The led lights the red! So now I'm waiting for a red ring so it's a true red, not the led white reflecting on the red. It looks amazing on the street and under street lamps and such. Almost there!!

Just be careful putting a red light on the front of your car if you are planning on driving it down the road. That can open you up to a ticket as you are not allowed red lights on the front of the car.

Already stopped by police dept. not an issue. They said it would have to be a flashing red light. And certainly more than a glowing ring. They actually liked it!! Lol
