I think there is terminology confusion here. The piece in your pic above is the transmission shift control module, or as it shown in the EPC----module- transmission, shift control.
So it really depends on what problem you are trying to solve as to what part you need. You have not really described the problem.

Below is copied from (earlier post in different thread) what I would say lead me to searching for the location of the TCM
My beloved 2008 XF 2.7 sometimes goes into what i will describe like a gear slip. When accelerating between 50 to 55mph moving up, the rpm will suddenly jump from say from1600/1700 to 3000 and Gear Fault displays on the dash. The car immediately loses power or acceleration from that moment until i stop the car and clear the Gear Fault with a scanner and only then will i be able to drive the car normally again until it happens again. Or sometimes when i try to accelerate fast, like move from say 40/45 to 60/65 in seconds. I must say this hardly happen when am driving within Nottingham but definitely when on a fair distant trip. The fault code it always comes up with before clearing is P0814, any idea what this problem is and how can it be resolved Thank you David

Definitely sounds like a fault inside the gearbox. Shifting is controlled by valves in the mechatronic unit and failures can occur with these, one fault being leakage from the seal clamping the unit together. How many miles on the car ? It is possible a reflash of the TCM firmware will solve the problem but you'll only find out if you do it. Have you taken the car to an autotransmission specialist ? The autotransmission was made by ZF and used in many makes of European car, not just Jaguar.

OK. We do not have diesel XFs like yours here in Canada. I did take a look at the 2009XF Workshop Manual which you could download from the stickies section of this Forum. The manual shows DTC P0814-01 and suggests it likely to be an electrical gremlin in the "Transmission Shift Module or TSM" (which is the part you have pictured above). Specifically it mentions LED failure in the PRNDS display. So I would expect you may see the red lights go out!!
I have no experience with the TSM so I cannot offer any other suggestions. There are other threads you can check on this forum.

Your picture is the Gearshift Module - and yes these gave problems, the main one being that it doesnt rise when starting the car
The issue you're describing would be with the transmission itself. As mentioned, there could be some software to update, however with age the valve body/Transmission Control Module do give problems.
