Lost sound on radio, nav and phone today. Voice recognition can hear commands, so I can make calls but will not hear when answered. Phone is not on mute nor is nav voice guidance cancelled. I've looked to see if there is a master mute button but have come up empty. Called the dealer and the only thought was to unmute on the phone screen which was never turned on. Volume adjusts on the screen but no sound from lowest to highest settings. Any thoughts?

dont mess with it its under warranty in old days would be loose connection or blown fuse to amplifier section

 

Sorry for the delay, but the dealer checked it out and it appears to be my phone, more importantly a Blackberry. Apparentley BB's can cause some problems causing the Audio system to shutdown, including the voice portion of guidance. Solution, besides swithching to Apple or Droid, turn car and phone off, leave car with keys in hand for a few minutes, this acts as a soft re-boot of the electronics. When you re-enter the car, all should be good with radio and Nav voice. Turn phone back on and you should be good, until it happens again.

 

This sounds just like my problem. I don't believe it is the phone as my phone is a Droid. You can use the Mic for the voice recognition, but the voice prompts and all the found from the speakers is completely gone. It comes back after the car is shutoff got 10 or 15 min.

It does not happen every time and I cannot find out what causes the problem or how to reproduce it.
