Yeah the ICM looks like it's the same from 07 -15
The number you gave on the disk changer isn't valid. I did find
7G9ZN-18C815 -TA V.S.
7G9N-18C915-TA you listed above, so is the 9 an 8 and did you miss the Z? If so, the number I listed 7G9ZN-18C815 -TA fits the following:

JAGUAR XF 09-10 receiver, AM-FM-CD, w/o Bowers and Wilkins audio system; 6 CD player
JAGUAR XF 11 receiver, AM-FM-CD, w/o Bowers and Wilkins audio system; 6 CD player, thru VIN R87891
JAGUAR XK 07-09 receiver, AM-FM-CD, w/o surround sound audio system

VIN number not valid either

Strange that the VINs in valid, that's what I have been using in sdd, and seems to go through fine.

Part numbers definitely correct, EDIT I typo'd the 8 to a 9

Just checked the eBay listing, and it showed the screen as having 2 antennas, not just one like the screen I received, so definitely have a feeling something's mixed up. They guy reckons he will still have one, so fingers crossed.

Ok thanks. The makes more sense on the head unit. That 6 CD changer # is for the XF 09 -11
I'm looking at post 19 in this thread for the VIN. The link takes me to this forum's VIN check and it says it's not valid. Same with Carfax. I guess no matter to me because it looks like you're getting your ducks in a row regarding the right parts to align with the CCF.

yeah, it kind of seems to be making more sense now!

I imagine this car has been scrapped, so perhaps once the happens the VIN gets removed from these online databases. SDD picks it up, and using the CCF attached to that VIN removed the configuration error.

on a seperate note, I've been too busy with this to do a real update on the android auto, but steering wheel controls are working, along with dash home and power buttons. And my favourite (but small thing) I've tapped into the sunlight sensor to auto adjust screen brightness.

If I can get this test rig set up, I can then work on doing some of the more complex functions. My thinking behind getting around the whole MOST bus idea, is to create a firewall with 2 can channels. disconnect the ICM from the cars can network, and wire that direct into one channel, nothing else will be on that channel, just the controller and ICM. (channel0)

The other channel, wire that inplace of the ICM onto the cars can network(channel1)

So any traffic destined for the ICM, goes to channel 1, controller then repeats this message onto channel0, ICM then picks it up.

Any good traffic from the ICM goes from channel0, then relayed to channel1, any parts of these messages that conflict with what the new screen is doing (ie heated seats) get blocked in the controller, and replace with the value of what the new screen wants.

In theory it can work!
