Meridian Surround Sound System 825W retrofit - 2012 XF onward
Today I’m describe how was Meridian Surround Sound System 825W retrofit made.
The thinking about the possibility of making from entry level Jaguar Sound 250W Sound System comes after was found the subwoofer wiring from factory.
From factory in vehicle was installed Jaguar Sound System with 8 chanel amp w/o subwoofer recognition, I’ll begin learning the wiring diagrams and found that in all amp’s types has the same pin connectors for speakers wiring, so the main problem is just reprogram the CCF file for activating sound system menu.
For this mod were ordered next item:
- Meridian surround speaker C2Z 22817 3pcs. (one for central dash panel, two for parcel shelf)
- Cover for surround speaker in central panel with “Meridian logo” C2Z24328LEG (the old one is so flat, so impossible to install it after the speaker installed, but possible to cut it but look no so good)
- Subwoofer C2Z 15665 (please note its the same for Meridian and B&W Sound System)
- Amp. С2D 30272 (this amp the same as for XF 825W and for 1200W from XJ and Range Rover, internal number BJ32-19C164-BG)
Sometimes additional need to order the wiring for connecting speakers from parcel shelf to main sound wiring: C2Z13633 (in my case this position was already installed in rear parcel shelf which was installed earlier)
So when all component were on my shelves, the installation began:
- was replaced amp to new one (its located under left side in trunk)
- was installed subwoofer (located under spare wheel) and plugged
- in my case the wiring from central speaker to main harness was absent, so loom for it was made in a few minutes, it was connected to connector C23-A, which locates on left side of dashboard for connecting front speaker must be use pin 12 and pin 13
- and the last one step is the reprogramming CCF file for activating subwoofer and Meridian Sound System options.
In the end got Meridian logo on main menu:
and some new sound options:
After all was done rides to JLR dealer for checking how this install is different from factory installation in sound quality, the sounds the same

About RJB: you can found it in TOPIx, or when I'll some free time check it.

Thanks... It's just that the front left bass negative wire is also white with brown stripe.
I tried looking in topix but I don't have a paid subscription and couldn't find the info. I'm looking for a fuse that will give me 12v when the car is switched on.
Thanks again.... Now to rip the side carpet out to get to the amp!

excellent..so it looks like I can use the green/red wire going in to the amp as my 12v turn-on wire for my subwoofer amplifier!
I was told by someone that this turn on was done through the most system and that I couldn't get this from the amplifier harness.
This is good news.. I can take 12v permanent direct from the battery, the 12v switched and speaker outputs from the amp, and then make a ground somewhere to the chassis.
Many thanks for your help... it has been greatly appreciated!

3 more questions if I may?!
1. Is there somewhere online you can put the part numbers in to find out costs or is it 'ring the dealer'?
2. Does anyone in the uk know where I can get the CCF file changed to give me meridian options on screen? I've tried my local independent but they couldn't help!
3. Do the rear speakers fit or do you need an entire new shelf with grilles? If so do you have a part number?
Many thanks

1. If I have some free time, I can help with part numbers.
2. What kind of SW uses yours independent garage?
3. If you ask about surround speakers in rear parcel shelf, you can just cut holes for speakers and found grills for them. For installing rear surround speakers you'll need to order wiring from speakers to connector under parcel shelf

Thanks.. I have all the part numbers and costs apart from the parcel shelf. I would rather not cut my existing one.
My independent will not carry out the work
Do you need 2 lots of rear harness for each speaker or just the 1?
Also how do you feed the home made harness up to the centre of the dash for the centre speaker?
Thanks

You need just one C2Z13633 for connect rear surround speakers to main harness
For connect front surround speaker you need two wires about 1.5-2.0m long

How did you get the wire from the connector up to the central speaker? Also how did you connect the wires to the car harness plug?
As soon as I find someone in the uk that can do the programming with the mongoose cable I will start ordering the bits.
Your help has been great thanks

Ah, you lives about 120 miles from Heathrow! Just in case, sometimes I'm visiting UK, so could bring laptop with me for unlock some options

You can take two wires, from one side you can tinned them and plug to C23-A connector from my first post, from other side select the joint from electrical shop and plug it to surround speaker
