Default Metric or Imperial

Hi there,

When it comes to screws, nuts, bolts, pipes, hoses, hose fittings, o-rings and the like, are our X250's all metric or are there some non-metric goodies hidden away for unsuspecting players? Do I need non-metric o-rings at hand as well as metric ones?

I ask because my '86 Series 3 XJ was a fabulous mix of metric and non-metric ... more fun than a home workshop deserves

Thanks

I did plenty of work on my old 2010 XFS and 2010 XFR and I don't remember needing any non-metric tools.
But I didn't work on the engines or gearboxes, they could be different but I doubt it.

Have both handy anyway as some are almost the same and can help in giving an especially tight fit, for example.

Metric, almost all.

I too have never had to use any of my imperial spanners, sockets, Allen keys, etc., on either my erstwhile XF-S or the XJ.
Once had to use my imperial lump hammer to persuade a brake disc to part company with the wheel hub.

I've removed every bolt from the engine - even all the internal ones - all metric. Same goes for the gearbox.

IIRC there was something on the supercharger. It was the rear oil fill port allen wrench I think.
