If you have a Mina axle back exhaust on your XF or XF SC what do you think of the sound? Their website states it is only marginally louder. I'm concerned about drone.

Anyone have a sound clip?

I would love to see and hear one first hand.

From what I have gathered I find the Mina Exhaust to be a very nicely crafted unit that fits very well. But it does not add much more sound output far as volume. And there is no drone at all. Kinda like Borla Exhausts for other cars versus something like Corsa. Borla is always just a tad bit louder than stock with a nice sound and no drone,they are also made very well. Where as Corsa is a good amount louder with min amount of drone nd also made very well.
Now Mina will be offering a new exhaust that will fit the 5.0L Xf cars in about a week or so. So keep an eye out for that. They will have the same look and sound as the 4.2L XF models they make.

 

I have not purchased one yet, if the sound is only marginally louder then no point really plus I like the stock exhaust finishers.

 

I saw and heard the Mina exhaust on a XKR with the 4.2 SC motor yesterday, it only had the one can where the XF ones have the 2 cans but it did sound pretty good. With easy revving while parked it had a nice throaty sound to it and the guy said it sounds great when he downshifts with the paddles. He also said there was no droaning.

Perhaps we can arrange a group buy?

 

The XKR sounds much different from the XF. I know Chris over at Mina and can arrange a group buy if you would like? Somebody start a group buy thread if there is interest and I will chat with Chris in the morning about it.

 

So the XF would not sound like the XKR did? Can Mina provide sound clips?
