Motor mounts

Please check that it is bad before replacing anything. Here is an old shade tree trick which will show you if the mounts are bad or not in about 5 minutes.
Open the hood of the car, get inside and start the engine. Now put it in gear with your foot on the brake. Slowly increase the gas like you would if power braking the car. Now watch what the engine is doing in the engine bay. As the torque builds you will compress one mount and apply tension to the other.
Does the engine raise up very much?
If not put the car in reverse and do the same thing. We are now loading the mounts exactly opposite of what we just did.
Now does the engine raise up?
If either mount is broken there will be no doubt about it using this test.
You can't go by what the car is doing. Just too many things involved and your feelings are not calibrated either.
