Here is a similar concept, super cheap and many lengths to choose from. Also the closer up stream you can place these, the better they work. I'm not sure why so many cars have these by the mufflers. I'm guessing clearance.

We developed a 4.2SC exhaust back in 2008 I believe it was, for a UK-Based company called Spires. Jaguar XF 4.2 & 4.2SC X-Pipe Center Section Exhaust Stainless

The X-Pipe I'm fairly sure doesn't fit the 5.0L cars, but we'd like to offer one to pair with our rear mufflers or with the OEM mufflers: Jaguar XF-R 'Supersports' Sound Level Exhaust System

If any owners out there are interested let me know. We'll do the first one for $200

UK owner who can bring their car to the factory would be great, but we can work from a customer-supplied pattern too.

What do you guys think about doing just a muffler delete (basically axle back straight pipes)?

On my previous BMW I had a simple muffler delete and it really made the car sound much louder and aggressive but I'm not sure how it would be on an XFR. Im afraid it'll sound like an annoying loud truck rather than the deep/loud v-8 tone that I desire.

I already had the Spires back boxes installed but from what I understand, I could have went with Mina system and saved some money. I went with 2.5 inch X-pipe and 2.5 inch tube all the way to the Spires system. The deletion of the resonators was free. In the end I paid $300.00 beans for the work and the install of the X-pipe. Added another grand if your going to change out the back end. If I had it to do over again, I would have went with Mina but I already know what the Spires system sounded like. Removel of the valve in the stock boxes is also a option. But I happen to like the chrome out back..
As for emissions, I just had the car inspected and my O2 level are well below the legal limit for Pa. No problems there. The car operates and function alot smother and the sound is more level. I think a system like this should be standard on the XF sports models (R) or (R-S). I know jagaur added the x-pipe and deleted the resonator from the (R-S) models but they keep the same back boxes or mufflers. In many of the reviews I've seen since the F type came out, This is the one weak point that is picked apart when it come to the XF model line, The car is to quite unless you hammering the go pedal. Hope that helps..
Thanks for this post as I'm about to replace the resonators with an Xpipe. Also had great luck with Magnaflow exhausts on several cars so I'll probably go with that again. AutoAnything has a sale for the next few days on this so a quick reply here from anyone would be awesome: What is the diameter of the stock exhaust piping? I have the Mina axleback right now but will probably just cut out the resonators and replace the X-pipe with similar diameter to the stock piping. The Magnaflow pipe has 3 diameter options, 2.25", 2.5" and 3". Which would you guys recommend? Would it make sense to go ahead and replace the rest of the piping from the X-pipe to the Mina exhaust?

From what I've been told it's all 2.5" or smaller. So I'd go 2.5" and it will probably be necessary to replace the pipes in the middle since both resonators take up more space than the X-pipe. Let us know what you think after it's done.

That's the right one.. That's the one that I had installed last year and no problems to date. It fit where the first resonator is located with no extra pipe needed. Simply cut and weld, my exhausted guy did it in a hour. The pain in the but was removing all those screws that hold on the under plate. No big deal..

This is going in on Wednesday/Thursday of this week. I was originally just going to replace the mid resonator but I am thinking I will end up doing 303 stainless pipe all the way back to the Mina axleback, replacing the second set of resonators. I don't think the xpipe alone will be enough for me!
