Need a new windshield, any thoughts?
Big truck headed the opposite way on Hwy 99 flung a stone into my windshield yesterday, it's toast. The shop I'm going to mentioned that the rain sensor and other stuff up in the mirror mount will need to be re-calibrated once he's done fitting the new glass.Holy cow these things are spendy when they break!

Unless you have lane-assist or road-sign recognition, there is nothing that needs to be re calibrated.
Here in the UK, part of most insurance policies covers windscreen (wind shield) replacement. I had to have mine replaced on the XJ last year and I paid just 75 GBP (95 USD). And NOTHING had to be re-calibrated (including the auto high-beam assist).

Do you have a winter package with the heated windshield? If you do, make sure that's what they plan to install.

Hope you used an original jaguar glass. Others I have heard ( and my installer had seen) the heated windshield never works rithJ.
I got mine through safelite I installed at my office) I had to request the the Jaguar only glass and was luckily covered 100% by my insurance policy. (Its a law here that insurance companies cannot substitute aftermarket parts if you specifically request original
The installer was the only one from the shop who woudl do the Jauar glass, said other installers find them a hassle, SO he had done a bunch

For S-type I paid $200 installed.
Pilkington is glass company, it has nothing to do with Jaguar, they sell glass for all cars
