Default need suggestions on tyres

Friends,
I have XF 2009 supercharged and 23000 miles on it. already replaced whole set of tires and 2 days back got holes in 2 tires again. my car has Pirelli P Zero performance tires but no good. I am wasting too much money on tires. Can someone suggest me what are my other brand choices for Pirelli replacement? I am willing to compromise on performance. Need cheap tires now, got sick of Pirellis. I live in NY/NJ area/

Thanks
Ravi

I've always thought the Continental Extreme Contact DW (DWS since you are in the North) have been a great value as far as the price for performance compromise.

I bought my 2010 XF SC a couple of years ago and it came with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tyres on it. They are high performance summer tyres (I use separate winter tyres) and they have been terrific. I've always had premium brand tyres in the past and would never have bought them myself - but am definitely impressed. And at 145 usd each they are cheap (relative to other options e.g. the $250-300 PZero for example)

I recommend Nitto NT555's from my other vehicles. Haven't tried them on my Jag yet but I will when these stockers are beat up.

+1 on the Conti DWS Extreme or the DW (if you are in warmer climates).

I have the DWS's on my '09 supercharged and they are great. Low noise, pretty sticky, and I have yet to get them to squeal around a turn, and they wear very nicely (~60,000mile treadlife warranty is also encouraging). I also used them on my prior Mercedes S600, and they were the ONLY all season tire that allowed me some snow traction in Chicago.

I tried the Michelin Pilot Sport Plus A/S and wore them out in 8,000miles despite some wonderful traction. Then tried the Nitto Motivos and they cupped and were so noisy (I was suprisingly unhappy with those despite a lot of people raving about them).

That being said, for a dedicated winter tire, when the time comes, the Nokian Hakapillita's are **superb** winter tires (I use them on the wife's GL450...makes it an absolute tank in the snow...I'm hoping they come in 20" sizes for my XF come next winter, although the DWS were pretty decent all things considered).

If shopping in this league I say forget the Nittos and go with R888's, they are much better on my RX-7 than the Nittos were.

I have the 20 inch Nokian's on my '11 S/C, 8.5 inch at all corners.

I just had a set of Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2s installed Friday, and so far, I'm loving them. Cornering is sharp, and the rear sticks pretty well. Traction control still steps in when I hit it hard, but I expect no less. My previous tires were Michelin Pilot Sport AS3s, and while they were good for all season rubber, I couldn't push them hard without suffering from a lot of understeer. Before that, I had a set of Yokohama S Drives. They were good, but I felt the sidewalls were a little stiff, resulting in a slightly harsher ride. I haven't had the Hankooks long, but so far I think they're a good value for the money.
