Default New Here and have questions

Hi all,

New here. Am considering an XF for my next daily driver. Will be looking next year, but want to know how reliable these Cats are. What is best year, best engine combo? Any advice welcome.

Thanks,
Perry

The first thing you need to tell us where you live so we can base our recommendations on models that you can actually get.

Next you need to tell us your budget so we dont waste time recommending a year/model that is out of your price range.

It would also be helpful to know how long you keep your vehicles normally before you shift them for a newer model.

Thank you for the reply. I live in Green Bay, Wi. We have a jaguar dealer near me so I have access to used ones. Winter is a big consideration. I'd like to stay close to $20K. I probably won't be getting anything til 2018, maybe 2019 so as depreciation hits, I may be able to get a newer model than if I bought now. Low mileage is the biggest thing over model year. Looking to find things to avoid, and trouble spots. I have a TR 6 I maintain, but I don't want to have to do much to this one, brakes, basic stuff.

Thanks,
Perry

AWD is only available on 2013+ with the 3.0L supercharged V6. Based on your location, this would be my recommendation for a daily driver. You can probably get a low/no option 2013 for around your budget now and within a year or two when you buy there should be well optioned 2013s and maybe 2014s within your budget. There are minimal changes 2013-2015, mainly how options are packaged.

Perry -
I just purchased and brought home yesterday a 2014 XF with the V6 supercharged V6 and it is a joy to drive. In my shopping, I came across another very nice 2014 white with AWD and the V6 supercharged engine and 40K miles and they wanted $24K with 40K miles. The one thing it did not have was the backup camera. It was on the website cargurus.com and that is a good place to look.

Rooting for Green Bay here in Dallas! Good luck in your search.

Tim
