New rims for 2010 XF Supercharged. Replacing OEM
#41
I think Mina use to sell a set of these a while back but it was the entire bumper splitter (think that's the right term) and not just the chrome piece but like I said that was a few years ago. After tiring days and weeks of searching for them I ran across these same ones you're looking at on ebay and they were about $360 or so. After doing some self inspection and removing the blades on my car I wasn't so sure these would fit and at that time hadn't really seen any reviews on these. I end up just buying a set of Philips DRLs and cutting my OEM blades and installing them myself. Took a lot of time and patience but I got it done. Love it and haven't had any issues thus far. See what install info you can find on these before you purchase and if there needs to be any mods made to install them.
This thread is starting to turn into an accessories thread..but I can't help it.
Does anyone have any feedback on these?

I just taped everything off. If you leave about an inch to inch and a half around everything it will peel away and break at the natural points. The best advice I can give you is to go with a light coat to start, let it dry and then lay a few heavy coats on top. Make the last coat thick, just this side of running. That way when it dries, it is nice and smooth. The great thing is, if you don't like it you can just peel it off. That's why i was thinking you could even PlastiDip your current rims to see if you liked the look.
Dimitri, I actually dig those. They look like an updated version of the ones Rob has. How big of a pain were those to install, Rob?

Yes - I remember someone bought ones that looked just like this from China via eBay a year or so ago. Just searched - see page 2 of this thread
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-103018/page2/
They were not happy with the quality and couldn't get the fit right
Would be v interested if it does work - maybe they can confirm whether there is a fitment issue?

Shep - can you confirm? I thought you had a SC model (so presumably you have the larger brakes?)
Several people interested in your wheel set up - any chance you can investigate the specifics of the package you got - wheel sizes, offsets etc. and post to the Forum?
Also, do your wheels stick out further than the OEM ones - i.e. lower offsets?
And what was price for the 4 wheels?
Thanks!

Hi OzXFR - sounds like you have a good eye for the front caliper types. See below for a photo of mine (not very clear I know...) - I'm assuming I have the 380mm but wanted to make sure. It feels like I have a good inch of clearance before the wheel on the side and also infront of the caliper - so it strikes me as strange that so few other 20inch wheels fit. Or maybe I have a different caliper?
Judging by the pic, Thor82 has the 355 mm front brakes and not the 380 mm front brakes fitted to the 2010 SC and 2009 onwards XFR.
Beside the fact that they look different, the easiest way to tell which you have is to whip a front wheel off and have a look down the side of the caliper, the size is stamped into it.
Wheels that clear the 355 mm calipers may not clear the 380 mm calipers.

For comparison here is a pic of the 355 mm brakes I had on the old XFS:

New rims for 2010 XF Supercharged. Replacing OEM
I think all XFR's should have had a black grill to match the lower vents - changed mine as well. But on the other trim levels I like the chrome because it goes with the blades.
I like the rims you've chosen. Subtle, but still make a statement. And because of the detail on the spokes, I would bet they look better in person.

I'm really happy with my Ace Convex. They do make them with a machined face, but they don't have the chrome lip. The offests in the push them right out almost flush.
