Default New timing chain tensioner faulty

Today I installed new blades and tensioners on my 2010 XF 5.0 NA. After installation and according to the workshop manual:

Itīs ok, the tensioner is applying tension. But:

In my case, the tensioner can be pushed back, but is far from contact the body of the tensioner. I recorded a video, what do you think, is the tensioner faulty? Should I remove the tensioner and perform the reset procedure?

Thanks

This is important - your tensioner is not faulty.

The workshop manual states that you need to push the timing guide (that the tensioner pushes against) outwards until the tensioner ratchets and you can't push the guide back in (and compress the tensioner).

I mention this because a lot of things I've seen online miss this step.

The manual states that you need to use "considerable force", and they're not ****ing around here: I needed a big old extension bar to get the leverage. I didn't hear the "click" the diagram mentions, but you'll know if you've got it because you won't be able to compress the tensioner pin.

Dave, you were absolutely right, now both chains are really tight. I used not one but two extension bars, one big and one small 1/2" extensions connected. I had to apply incredible force and was afraid I would break something. BTW, no click sound

THAK YOU!!!
