New XF wagon

Some of the other pictures I saw of this made it look very good. It was also being restricted to diesels for the present. Homologation for the US market was mentioned as not being considered which is a shame. The US prefers wagons on stilts (calling them cross overs or SUVs ....). Me, I like to be closer to the ground, since physics cannot be changed, larger higher vehicles are inherently unstable which makes handling difficult. The wagon is a solution that gives you the space without the physics challenging handling issues.
I also speculate that the need for height in the US may be something to do with how dogs behave. Apparently dogs measure superiority based on height, so maybe it is an inferiority complex that makes people buy vehicles that are higher off the ground than necessary..... Pure speculation of course.

North American car buyers are women or men who do what their women say. Europeans are not like that. Women gain a completely false sense of security from driving SUV type vehicles. They insist on buying them.
If you don't believe me ask. One woman actually said she feels safer in her Ford Explorer because it gives her "presence" on the road. Another woman said she felt safer in her GM Yukon. I told each of their husbands where to look for reliable and trustworthy factual information on just how dangerous these vehicles actually are. One's wife now drives a VW Passat Wagon and the other an AUDI A4 wagon. Both describe how safe they feel now they can feel what the car is doing. They can also get out of danger more quickly by stepping on the gas.
I advise my wife that safety comes from having more power available to accelerate rapidly than you ever think you might need. She's sceptical but coming around after a few drives in my chipped Audi turbo!
